My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest. Exodus 33:14
It was nice to be able to “sleep in” today until 8 AM. After waking up before the roosters and the sun for the past four workdays, our bodies definitely needed the rest. Physically and mentally. Times four!
Waking up this morning was so refreshing knowing that the people of Zoranje were another day closer to worshipping the Lord on Sunday in their brand new church! We thanked God and praised Him for helping us finish the church in these past four workdays.
After a relaxing, hearty breakfast, we ventured out of the guesthouse, with a mission to make it to the Baptist Mission. Get it?!
Anyways, it was such a blessing to drive through such beautiful mountains.
We toured the museum, dodged the street vendors and headed over to the petting zoo. Yes you read correctly. The petting zoo.
Now this wasn’t any ordinary petting zoo. This place had beasts that none of us would dare to “pet” let alone be in the same room as them.
Let’s start with the more “friendlier” creatures… rabbits, birds, quails, butterflies, fish and goats.
Then there were lizards, flies, bugs, spiders, alligators and a big, buff guard with a shotgun. We steered clear of that last one, making sure not too feed him any pieces of bread…
Gazing at these creatures, we were amazed with how awesome God truly is. He created each and every one of them. What’s more amazing? He also created each and every one of us. We were all so grateful to have made this mission trip to do the Lord’s work.
After thoroughly enjoying our experience at the petting zoo, we sped over to the overlook deck to have some lunch. Each of us posted up against the railing, the vastness of Port-Au-Prince and the surrounded area gleamed. We had fun trying to point out the route we took to Zoranje.
For one last time, we headed back to the guesthouse. We all took some time to pack our bags. And then we had one last team dinner together. Just three letters and three letters only this time…
BBQ!
Oh how we are going to miss our house helpers’ cooking!
Please continue to pray for us as we head back home tomorrow. We are all excited to see our families and loved ones. And share our amazing stories with them.
We ask that you continue to pray for Team Haiti, Zoranje and the church. There is still much work to be done. But we are excited for what God is continuing to do in that community. Let Him keep on shining!!!

Round two of Operation: Hope… done! The Twelve… out!
